Karthik last played for India in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 and since then, he has found himself on the sidelines as he failed to make the cut into the national side. However, he has been a revelation in the IPL 2022, and his staggering performances are the reason behind him being recalled to the Indian squad.
So far, Karthik has scored 287 runs in 14 matches at an incredible strike rate of 191.33 in IPL 15. Not only this, but he also won games for the side with his brutal hitting at the death.
Reacting to his selection, Karthik said that believing in himself made everything fall into place. He also thanked his fans for their support.
“If you believe yourself, everything will fall into place! Thank you for all the support and belief...the hard work continues," Dinesh Karthik tweeted.
Karthik would be hoping to continue his red-hot form from the IPL 2022 to the national side. With T20 World Cup 2022 just a few months away, he would also be looking to make his case strong for the selection.
