Kohli will lead India in the second Test at Mumbai.
Virat Kohli is making his first appearance in the ongoing home series against New Zealand with the second Test in Mumbai, starting on Friday (December 3). He had been rested for the three T20Is and the first Test match.
Kohli, meanwhile was seen practicing at Brabourne Stadium with former batting coach Sanjay Bangar while the Indian team was taking on New Zealand in Kanpur, with the Test eventually ending in a draw as New Zealand's last-wicket pair held on for nearly 9 overs in fading light.

The Indian captain is likely to replace one of opener Mayank Agarwal or vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane in the XI, after debutant Shreyas Iyer scored 105 and 65 to all but secure his spot for the second Test.
Ahead of the Mumbai Test, Kohli had a productive indoor net session on Thursday with rest of the team members as heavy rain in the city forced the outdoor practice sessions to be called off on both days. It is hoped the rain would subside for the match to start on time on Friday.
Kohli was seen working on his defence and then played his wide array of shots as the session went along in a short video clip shared by BCCI on Twitter. He also received throwdowns from head coach Rahul Dravid.
