Ashwin got Tom Latham as his 418th Test wicket to go past Harbhajan's record of 417 wickets.
Ashwin, who began this Test match with 413 wickets to his name, bowled Kiwi opener Tom Latham to take his 418th wicket and go past Harbhajan Singh’s haul of 417 Test victims. With this wicket, Ashwin is now the third-highest Test wicket-taker for India after Kapil Dev (434) and Anil Kumble (619).
The off-spinner also became the fifth-highest wicket-taker amongst spinners in the format and trails Sri Lanka's Rangana Herath, who is fourth on the list with 433 wickets.

Harbhajan Singh, who last played a Test match for India in 2015 against Sri Lanka, has 417 wickets in 103 Tests.
Harbhajan Singh took to Twitter and posted a congratulatory message for Ashwin saying, “Congratulations @ashwinravi99 wish you many more brother.. God bless.. keep shining”
