Pant will not be part of the two-Test New Zealand series starting November 25.
Many were of opinion that players' workload should be managed especially after a couple of them complained about less time to relax, which was also cited as one of the reasons for India’s poor performance in the T20 World Cup 2021, where they were eliminated in the league stage itself.
"I believe this city taught me a lot," MS Dhoni opens up on his connection with Chennai
"After the T20 World Cup, everyone's thinking that in what areas we can improve. As a group, we have been talking about that a lot. We had to improve in the middle overs. We have ticked a few boxes. It's going really well for us. As a kid, I always dreamt of winning matches for India in any situation. I am ready to do whatever the team needs me to do. I am happy to finish the match," Pant told host broadcaster Star Sports before the third T20I.
The new team management has talked about players’ workload management, but Rishabh Pant, who had been with the Indian team since the England tour, said that he cannot complain about it as he is set to be rested for the New Zealand Test series, ahead of the tour of South Africa.
"I can't be complaining about the workload but the team management has given me offs from the next two Test matches. Hopefully, I can recover well and do well in South Africa," he added.
