5 bowlers who could make their India debut in near future

These five bowling talents are on the radar of the Indian team selectors and might make their debut soon.

Things have been steadily changing in the Indian domestic circuit as more and more fast bowling talents are being unearthed from rural parts of the country. But at the same time, the age-old skill of spin has not seen any decline in quality as Indian cricket is full of potential bowlers who can play for India in coming time.

At the moment, even the world is taking notice of the Indian fast bowling prowess and if Team India wishes, they can easily get a like to like replacement of their current bowlers in form of match ready bench strength.

Therefore Team COC has chosen five bowling talents that can make their India debut in time to come.

Let’s have a look at the 5 bowlers who could make their India debut in near future

Prasidh Murali Krishna

Prasidh Murali Krishna hails from Karnataka and came into prominence thanks to his performances in the IPL 2018 edition for Kolkata Knight Riders. He was brought in as the replacement for injured Kamlesh Nagarkoti and got to play only a few games but impressed all with his ability to bowl 145 kmph plus on a constant basis. He also picked a four-wicket haul for KKR in one of the games against SRH.

Recently also he performed very well for India A side in England and picked 4/49 against South Africa A for India B in the ongoing quadrangular series in India. If India ever wants a young fast bowler to run through sides with his speed and bounce, Prasidh Krishna will definitely be in the line for his India debut soon.

Ankit Rajpoot

Ankit Rajpoot has been a revelation ever since he made his IPL debut for KKR and impressed one and all with his pace and bounce. In 2017, Ankit picked up his maiden five-wicket haul playing for Kings XI Punjab.

24-year-old Rajpoot represents Uttar Pradesh in Ranji Trophy and has picked 136 wickets in 46 FC games with a best of 10/97 in a match. He also has 68 wickets from 54 T20 games and recently picked five wickets in a match for India Green against India Red in the ongoing Duleep Trophy. Tall and well built, Rajpoot has the ability to move the ball both in the air and extract bounce from even the deadest the pitches.

India needs a 'hit the deck' fast bowler and Ankit Rajpoot fits the bill perfectly.

Rajneesh Gurbani

Rajneesh Gurbani burst through the Indian domestic scene thanks to Vidarbha’s win in the 2017/18 Ranji Trophy. A bowler in the mold of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Gurbani swings and seams the ball in the air and off the pitch and has enough pace to trouble the batsmen.

In just 14 FC matches, he has 71 wickets with a best of 7/68 against Karnataka. In the final of the 2017/18 Ranji Trophy, he took a hat-trick, becoming the second bowler to take one in the final of the Ranji Trophy.

Recently, in the match between India Red and India Green, Gurbani was the star bowler with figures of 7/81 and has put up his name for the contention in the senior India team. Gurbani has definitely put himself on the radar of the Indian selectors with his performances and his abilities and it is just a matter of time before he realizes his dream of playing for India.

Navdeep Saini

Delhi’s Navdeep Saini was recently picked in the Indian Test squad for the one-off Test against Afghanistan. This selection was seen as the mark of selectors acknowledging his work in the Indian domestic cricket for Delhi.

In 35 FC matches, Saini has 105 wickets with a best of 6/32. He has also been part of Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore squads in Indian Premier League, gaining vital knowledge from international cricketers and coaches.

Saini has shown penchant of getting something out of the flat Indian pitches and making the batsmen uncomfortable with pace and bounce. He was the leading wicket-taker for Delhi in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy, with 34 dismissals in eight matches.

He along with Gurbani is one of the most talked about talents in Indian fast bowling that will sooner or later make their mark in international cricket for India.

Krunal PandyaKrunal Pandya, the elder brother of Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya is a talented left-arm spinner and batsman in his own right. Krunal too plays for Baroda mostly in limited overs format. However, he came into prominence by playing for Mumbai Indians in the IPL.

He was their star in 2017 IPL when he almost singlehandedly won the final against Rising Pune Supergiant. Since then, he has been doing tremendously well for India A and Baroda alike. He made valuable contributions with both bat and ball for India A on the tour to England and was chosen in the Indian T20I squad against England.

However, a debut eluded him, as Kuldeep and Chahal routed England, as India won the series 2-1. But Krunal has kept himself on the horizon with his brutal display of batting in IPL and smart and economical bowling.

Given that he did well for India A against Australia A in the ongoing quadrangular series match, scoring 49 and picking a wicket; the moment is very near for him when he joins his brother Hardik in the Indian team
