Virat Kohli was dismissed by Jofra Archer for just 5 runs during the first ODI between India and England at Edgbaston, Birmingham on Tuesday (July 14).

Coming in at No. 3, Kohli faced 6 balls and managed one boundary before being trapped LBW by Archer in the 9th over. While playing a full and straight delivery, the star batter shuffled right across on the flick and missed it completely as the ball truck bang in front of the middle stump.

It marks a rare feat, as it is the first time in international cricket that Jofra has dismissed Kohli, whose wicket reduced India to 48/2 in the chase of 259. Veteran opener Rohit Sharma was dismissed shortly before Kohli for 11 runs off 21 balls by Sam Curran.

Earlier in the day, the hosts were bowled out for 258 runs in 47.5 overs. Joe Root anchored the England innings with an unbeaten 76, sharing a crucial 121-run partnership with Liam Dawson (68).

India's pace trio of Gurnoor Brar (2-62), Jasprit Bumrah (1-31) and Prasidh Krishna (2-50) dismantled the English top and middle order, Axar Patel wrapped up the tail to finish with figures of 4 for 62
