Rana picked up the injury during the T20I leg of the tour.
Rana initially suffered a knee injury prior to the 2026 T20 World Cup, causing him to miss both the global showpiece and the IPL.
After completing rehab at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, he made a brief return during the Ireland series, only to have his comeback cut short by a hamstring tear. The right-arm quick bowled 14 over across five T20Is in the ongoing UK tour before picking up a fresh injury.
According to the report, Rana has been asked to check into the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru to establish a recovery and rehab timeline.
This setback comes at a time when the young pacer was looking to rebuild his place in the Indian team after spending four months on the sidelines.
Harshit Rana was initially pulled from the final two matches of the ongoing five-T20I series against England, following an assessment from the BCC Medical Team.
Alongside Rana, mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy was also sidelined with a similar hamstring issue ahead of the fourth T20I in Bristol.
Notably, the ODI squad had to be reshuffled earlier when seam-bowling all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy was ruled out of the tour with a quadriceps injury, forcing selectors to draft in Shivam Dube as his replacement.
It remains to be seen who replaces Harshit Rana in the squad for three 50-over matches, slated to begin on July 14 at Edgbaston.
