Sooryavanshi has scored 14 and 13 runs respectively in two T20Is against England.
Team India's teenage phenom Vaibhav Sooryavanshi needs to figure out how to counter the short-ball strategy that opposing teams have and will continue to employ against him, according to former wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel.
After hitting 13 runs in the third T20I at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, Sooryavanshi was undone by a stinging Jofra Archer bouncer and had to walk back to the pavilion.
Opposition teams have frequently attempted to unnerve and stifle the southpaw with traditional short-pitched bowling due to Sooryavanshi's skill on both sides of the wicket on the wider and conventional lengths.
Although he has been trapped by short deliveries, the newcomer has demonstrated that he is strong enough on the square and behind the wicket to block them.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi must find a solution, according to Parthiv Patel, since this will be a recurring pattern throughout his international career.
"Not just Jofra Archer, but anyone in world cricket who has watched the IPL. I am not surprised that there has been a plan to bowl short to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. As Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continues to play international cricket, he will have to face this type of bowling. There will definitely be a question of how he will be able to cope because all bowlers will come with this type of planning," Parthiv Patel said on Star Sports.
Sooryavanshi is yet to cross the 15-run mark in his two T20I appearances after he was included in the India XI at the expense of Sanju Samson.
Parthiv Patel also talked about the lack of game awareness of Indian batters who have let down the team throughout the Ireland and England tour, with the most recent performance resulting in their second-lowest T20I score.
"There has to be a better understanding of the game from the batters in the fourth T20I, a bit more game awareness. All of these are experienced T20 batters, so they know that they have more time than they think. They can take one or two overs because these conditions are different; the wickets won't be entirely flat here. You have to get used to the ground dimensions, so it is important to give yourself that little bit of time," Parthiv Patel concluded.
Team India faces England in the fourth T20I of the series in Bristol on Thursday, July 9.
