Fast bowler Jofra Archer fired a warning shot to the India team, noting that English conditions provide a welcome return to "normal cricket" following the batting-friendly surfaces and shorter boundaries seen in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Archer's comments came after England hammered India by 125 runs in the third T20I at Trent Bridge, where the visitors were bowled out for a mere 76 while chasing a 202-run target.

During the rout, Archer took 3/29 and Josh Tongue picked up 4/38, giving the home side a 2-0 series lead in the five-match series.

"I think it goes back to normal here. You try to bowl the ball straight on a good length. Whereas over there, because the wickets are so easy and the boundaries are so small, you have to be really, really particular. Here, I feel your margin for error is a little bit bigger," Archer said in the post-match presser.

Archer also suggested that England always felt their total of 201 would be enough, unlike in the IPL where even 200-plus totals are often chased down.

While 200-plus totals are routinely chased down in the IPL, Archer felt fully confident defending 201 on the Trent Bridge surface, knowing it would require a "really special innings" from the opposition to pull off.

"At the IPL, sometimes 200 isn't safe. With 200 on the board on that wicket, I don't want to say we were confident, but I felt it would have taken a really special innings to chase it down," he added.

Archer commended England's bowling unit for a cohesive team effort. "I'm just glad everybody chipped in. Everybody who bowled got wickets today, so it was a complete bowling performance," he said.

The thrilling duel between Archer and his Rajasthan Royals teammate Vaibhav Sooryavanshi escalated during the third T20I.

The 15-year-old had smashed the speedster for a six over fine leg on T20I debut in Manchester, and also opened his account with a maximum off Archer in Nottingham. However, the England pace spearhead dismissed the teenager with a blistering 145 kmph lifter in Nottingham.

Jofra Archer declared the rivalry "even" with two games remaining in the series. "Well yeah, I think it's even now. But we've got another two games left and it could go either way, so may the best man win," he stated.

Archer also dismissed suggestions that sheer speed alone overwhelmed the Indian batters. "No, not really. I think we both bowled pretty well in Manchester. Neither of us really got the wickets to show for it there, so we're just glad we got something today," he said.

He highlighted that discipline mattered far more than raw pace. "I don't think it was that pacey, to be honest. It may have been a little quicker, but there was a strong wind, so honestly I didn't really feel that out of the hand."

This loss marked the first instance of India failing to win any of their last five T20I encounters. The reigning T20 world champions are yet to register a victory under new captain Shreyas Iyer.T20I player profiles

While India suffered a 0-2 whitewash on the tour of Ireland, they are trailing 0-2 in the five-T20I series against England. The visitors face a must-win situation in the penultimate T20I in Bristol on Thursday (July 9) to keep the series alive.
