The 125-run loss is India's biggest defeat by runs in T20Is.
England completely dominated India in the third T20I of the five-match series, which was played at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on July 8, 2026. India captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl first. India made one change, bringing in pacer Prince Yadav for Ravi Bishnoi.
Phil Salt led the England innings with a brilliant 70 in 44 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes. He was ably supported by Jos Buttler (38), and then Sam Curran hammered 41* runs in 24 balls with 4 fours as England posted 201/7 in 20 overs.
Many expected the Indian team, the three-time T20 World Cup champions, to chase the total down easily. However, the Indian batting unraveled in front of some amazing bowling by England pacers Jofra Archer and Josh Tongue.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ishan Kishan made 13 each, Abhishek Sharma and Axar Patel made 10, as the rest of the batters failed to get into double figures. Archer bowled like the wind, dismissing Sooryavanshi, Shreyas Iyer and Axar. He ended up with figures of 3/29.
Tongue, playing his second T20I, was far more impressive with figures of 4/28. He dismissed the likes of Abhishek, Kishan, Harshit Rana and Shivam Dube.
In the end, India was bundled out for 76 runs in 11.4 overs, and England handed the Men in Blue their biggest loss in T20Is ever, by 125 runs.
The Indian cricket fraternity was all in shock, seeing Indian batting perform so poorly and lose by such a big margin.
