Former England spinner Graeme Swann believes 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is a generational talent who has successfully tackled every bowling challenge thrown at him.

Ahead of India's T20I series against England, Swann suggested that while most bowlers are still searching for a way to restrict the teenager, Jofra Archer could hold a slight advantage because of his shared IPL background with Sooryavanshi.

Swann also highlighted the challenge a team faces while preparing for a batter with limited international exposure.

"It's hard to prepare for a player like Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. He is still new to international cricket, but he has already played two IPL seasons. That means there is video footage available. Some of the England bowlers may have bowled to him in the IPL," Swann told JioStar.

"But the truth is, no one has really had much success against him so far. He has looked almost unplayable," he added.

"The one bowler who might have a slight advantage is Jofra Archer. He has seen Sooryavanshi from the dugout, bowled to him in the nets, and watched him closely. He has probably seen more of him than anyone else," he continued.

According to Swann, Archer's express pace, combined with his sharp tactical mindset and familiarity with Sooryavanshi’s batting style, could be England's best weapon to find a breakthrough.

"Maybe he has spotted a weakness. Maybe he has a plan. And he has the express pace to back it up."

However, Swann was quick to acknowledge that Sooryavanshi has dominated elite attacks, leaving England with no guarantees to dismiss the young prodigy.

"But so far, no matter who has bowled to Sooryavanshi, no matter how highly rated the bowler, he has always had an answer," he remarked.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was rewarded with a place in the national side after a remarkable IPL 2026 campaign, where he finished as the Most Valuable Player and Orange Cap winner for the Rajasthan Royals (RR), hammering 776 runs in 16 innings at a staggering strike rate of 237.30.

At 15 years and over 90 days old, Sooryavanshi is on the verge of shattering Sachin Tendulkar’s 36-year-old record to become the youngest debutant in men’s cricket for India. Tendulkar was 16 years and 205 days when he made his international debut against Pakistan in 1989.

India will play five T20Is on the tour of England, slated to begin on Wednesday (July 1) in Chester-le-Street.
