The BCCI Men's Selection Committee on Saturday (June 6) announced India's T20I squads for the upcoming trip to UK.

The tour will feature two T20Is against Ireland on June 26 and 28 in Belfast, followed by five T20Is in England from July 1 to July 11.

Shreyas Iyer's appointment as captain headlined both squads, while Tilak Varma has been named the new T20I deputy.

Despite leading India to T20 World Cup triumph earlier this year, Suryakumar Yadav was dropped entirely from the T20I squad due to his extended lean patch with the bat, paving the way for a major transition phase.

Teenage prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who won the Orange Cap in IPL 2026 with 776 runs, also earned his maiden senior team call-up.

The likes of Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan, who formed India's top 3 at T20 World Cup 2026, retained their places in the squad.

Pacer Prince Yadav also received his maiden India call-up after impressing one and all with his exploits for LSG in the recently held IPL.

Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi too secured a place in the 16-member roster, along with mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy.

Shivam Dube and Nitish Kumar Reddy are the designated seam-bowling all-rounders in the lineup, while Axar Patel and Washington Sundar are the spin all-rounders.

Mohammed Siraj, Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh are the premier fast-bowling options in the side.

Some of the notable absentees from the squad were Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and Kuldeep Yadav.
