England won the toss and chose to bat first.
Dhoni was also spotted watching the second T20I at Edgbaston and later was seen catching up with India wicketkeepers Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant after India won the match by 49 runs and took a 2-0 lead in the three-T20I series.
MS Dhoni has been in the UK as he celebrated his 41st birthday recently in London and multiple Indian cricketers attended the bash as well.
He was captured by cameras talking with Ravi Shastri who is on commentary duty in the ongoing limited-overs series between India and England, which will also feature three ODIs, starting July 12.
Here is the video of the same:
Ravi Shastri also posted a photo with MS Dhoni on his Twitter with the caption reading: "Great to catch up with the maestro who looks in fine fettle - @msdhoni"
Meanwhile, England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and chose to bat first on a batting paradise of a pitch. Phil Salt and Reece Topley were included in the XI for Sam Curran and Matt Parkinson.
India, on the other hand, made four changes as Shreyas Iyer, Avesh Khan, Umran Malik, and Ravi Bishnoi came in for Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, and Yuzvendra Chahal.
