Virat Kohli’s lean patch of runs continued even in the ongoing one-off Test against England at Edgbaston and the wait for his 71st international century extended, with his 70th ton coming in 2019.

After having a poor outing in the first innings, where he managed only 11 runs, Kohli registered another low score as he was dismissed for just 20 runs in India’s second essay.

English skipper Ben Stokes bowled a peach of delivery during the 30th over that took an outside edge of Kohli’s bat and went to wicketkeeper Sam Billings, who failed to grab it.

Just when it seemed it’ll be a drop chance, Joe Root at first slip was quick enough to bring out his hand to grab the ball and send the batter packing for 20 runs.

As Kohli was walking back to the dressing room, Barmy Army, who trolled him after his dismissal in the first innings, once again took a jibe at him and was seen chanting Cheerio from the stands.

They posted a video on their official Twitter account and captioned it: “Cheerio @imVkohli #ENGvIND.”

Coming to the match, India took a massive first-innings lead of 132 runs. After Kohli got out, Cheteshwar Pujara (50*) and Rishabh Pant (30*) extended the tourists’ lead to 257 runs. The visitors would be hoping to take their lead past 350 runs and try to win the match.
