The stand-in Indian captain took Stuart Broad to the cleaners.
Bumrah arrived in the middle after the fall of Mohammad Shami’s wicket in the 80th over and he produced a dazzling cameo of 16-ball 31* for the visitors.
Bumrah’s unbeaten knock was studded with 4 fours and 2 sixes. All of his boundaries came in an over of veteran England pacer Stuart Broad, which went for a total of 35 runs – the new record for most runs off an over in Test cricket.
While Bumrah smashed the first ball for a four, the second delivery went for five wides followed by a six off a no-ball and then three consecutive fours. In the fifth delivery, the Indian captain once again hit a six before taking a single on the last ball.
