Chopra predicted the final series results in favor of India.
Former Indian batsman and cricket analyst Aakash Chopra hailed Virat Kohli-led Indian cricket team as a “champion team” after the tourists registered a thrilling victory over England in the fourth Test, saying the Indians have started their campaign to be the world champions.
On Monday (September 6), Team India had overcome all the odds to crush England by 157 runs in the fourth Test at The Oval to take a 2-1 lead in the ongoing five-match Test series with the fifth and final Test scheduled at Manchester from September 10.
Chopra said on his YouTube channel, “India were 127/7, who had thought India will win. When they had given a lead of 99 runs, who had thought that India will win. You needed ten wickets on the final day with the pitch flat as a road, who had thought again that India will win. But this is a champion team.”
He continued, “Remember that examples are not forgotten and examples will be given of this team because Virat Kohli's team has started their campaign to be the world champions. We are totally impressed because India has added another historic win to their name. They had won at Lord's, lost in Headingley but have captured the Oval, they have won a Test match there after 50 years.”
Praising the Indian team for their recent overseas victories, the commentator said: “When you see this team, the heart says to get obsessed with them. The performances they are giving and demolishing the teams one after the other, this is the team which has defeated Australia twice in their backyard.”
Chopra also predicted that India will win the final Test in Manchester to clinch the ongoing Test series with a margin of 3-1 against England.
He signed off by saying, “Now, this is the team that cannot lose this series from here. I feel they will come back after winning the series 3-1 if rain does not come for England's aid at Old Trafford.”
