The second Test between England and India was probably one of the best between the two sides in some time. India defeated England by 151 runs on the final day by bowling them out for 120 in a chase of 272 runs inside 60 overs.

Not only did India showed great character in the match, but the players themselves were involved in some heated exchanges as well. The focal point of this was the confrontation between Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and James Anderson, Joe Root. This was prompted after a 10-ball over from Jasprit Bumrah in which he barraged James Anderson with bouncers.

Anderson, Kohli, and Bumrah were seen involved in some heated exchanges on the field after the third day’s play ended. However, reports from the Telegraph have suggested that England and India's players were involved in a heated confrontation in the Lord's Long Room after the third day's action in the second Test.

England skipper Joe Root and India skipper Virat Kohli are believed to have exchanged words on their way to the dressing rooms as things looked like they could go out of hand.

Earlier in his column for the Telegraph, James Anderson opened up about the interaction he had with the Indian players after the end of the third day’s play. In the second innings of the Lord's Test, Anderson was seen having an animated chat with Bumrah after the Indian pacer unleashed a barrage of bouncers at him.

After that, tempers flared and both teams engaged in verbals throughout the game.

"I was angry at the end. The emotion got the better of me and I felt I had to say something. I felt bad for doing that because it drew attention away from Rooty celebrating an amazing inning as he came off the field. I apologise to him afterwards for that but the emotion got the better of me. It happens sometimes," wrote Anderson in his column for the Telegraph.

Both sides will now lock horns in the third Test, beginning Wednesday (Aug 25) at Headingley, Leeds.
