Team India registered an amazing win over England in the second Test match at Lord’s in London on Monday (August 16). From being down and out at stumps on Day 4, the tourists came back strongly on Day 5, thanks to valuable contributions with the bat by Jasprit Bumrah (34*) and Mohammad Shami (56*).

As everyone was praising Indian tail-enders, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra pointed out that while India has produced some great bowlers, the current depth in the Indian bowling unit makes them the "best ever".

This is India's best Test bowling line-up ever. There is no doubt about that. It is because when Bhajji and Kumble were together, two great spinners, we did not have four or five fast bowlers, Chopra said in his latest YouTube video.

Along with Zaheer Khan, there was Ajit Agarkar sometimes, and Ashish Nehra or RP Singh on other occasions. But four or five of this level together - that along with Bumrah you get Shami, Ishant, Siraj, Shardul, and there are still fast bowlers sitting out. This is insane, the depth we are seeing,” he added.

As far as spinners are concerned, the cricketer-turned-commentator feels the current spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is as good as veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh and even though Ravindra Jadeja is behind former cricketer Anil Kumble, pacers make up for his lack of wickets.

The two spinners we are talking about, Ravichandran Ashwin is standing shoulder to shoulder with Harbhajan Singh, Jaddu is far behind Anil Kumble but the fast bowlers are making up for the lack of wickets or experience,” the former India cricketer said.

I don't think India has had a better bowling line-up than this in their cricket history. Yes, this is the best ever,” the right-hand batsman signed off.

After winning the Lord’s Test match, India has gone 1-0 up in this five-match Test series against hosts England with the third Test scheduled to be played at Headingley in Leeds from 25 August.
