Bumrah and Shami added 50 plus runs for the 9th wicket on day 5.
However, the England bowlers went a bit overboard in trying to hurt Jasprit Bumrah and the Indian tail wagged amazingly. Bumrah had joined Mohammad Shami with the score of 209/8 when Ishant Sharma fell for 16 runs. Since then the England bowlers tried to bounce out Bumrah and even hit him a few times.
Both Shami and Bumrah took advantage of their mistimed focus and accumulated valuable runs taking India’s lead past the 200-run mark.
Mark Wood succeeded in pinging Jasprit Bumrah and both the pacers had something to say to one another. After the end of the over, Bumrah said something to Illingworth and pointed fingers at an English player (Wood likely), probably indicating that someone said something to him.
England keeper Jos Buttler walked into Bumrah’s face and the two went at one another with umpire Illingworth trying to get Shami to get Bumrah to zip up.
Here is the video:
While Bumrah was clearly not impressed at whatever was being told to him, even Kohli, the India captain got into the act, all the way up from the Lord’s balcony. Kohli looked unimpressed with what was going on and cheered Bumrah on from the dressing room.

Meanwhile, England had expected to wrap India’s inning quickly and chase down something around 190-200, but Shami and Bumrah have managed to give India something to bowl at on the final day.
