England captain Joe Root and India wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant were seen in an animated conversation at the end of day 4 at Lord’s in the ongoing second Test of the five-match series.

India ended the day on 181/6 with a lead of 154 runs in the second innings and the play came to an end after India captain Virat Kohli signaled to the batsmen in the middle, Pant and Ishant Sharma to talk to the umpires about the fading light as the floodlights had taken over.

The umpires concurred with the Indian batsmen’s appeal and after checking for the light using the meter, decided to call off the day’s play with 8 overs remaining in the day. Since these overs were extra after the scheduled time for closure of play, these were not added to the day five proceedings.

When the two teams were walking back, Joe Root was seen in a conversation with Rishabh Pant about them taking the light and going off with still overs in hand and both were using hand gestures a lot.

This gave the Twitterverse a proper opportunity to have fun at the expense of the two cricketers and they used their imagination to convey what the conversation was about.
