After a drawn first Test at Trent Bridge owing to heavy rain on the final day in Nottingham, the action moved to London for the second Test from Thursday (12 August).

Ahead of the second Test, England pacer Stuart Broad suffered an injury, and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Wednesday confirmed the addition of pacer Saqib Mahmood to the team squad as a cover for the upcoming Test match.

Along with Pope, spinner Dominic Bess has also left the squad and returned to Yorkshire as well.

Lancashire seamer Saqib Mahmood has been added to the squad as cover for the second Test against India. Spinner Dom Bess will leave the squad and return to Yorkshire this morning,” the ECB said in an official statement.

It will be interesting to see how both the teams go about in the second Test match at the iconic venue, known as the Home of Cricket, Lord’s.
