The first Test match at Trent Bridge ended in a draw due a wash out on day 5.
Even though India didn’t win the match, but they will take a lot of positives from the game like the bowling unit taking all 20 wickets in the match as well as the batting unit also looking good. Thus, Dinesh Karthik said that he believes India will have a lot of positives as compared to the hosts.
“I think India definitely had the upper hand going into the final day. India will take a lot more from this game than England would - overall they played a very good brand of cricket,” Karthik told Sky Sports.

The right-arm quick Jasprit Bumrah who went wicketless in the recently concluded final of the World Test Championship (WTC) against New Zealand, turned things around in this Test match as the pacer picked 9 wickets in the match, including a five-wicket haul in the second innings.
Despite not having the regular openers as batsman Shubman Gill and Mayank Agarwal were unavailable due to injuries, KL Rahul grabbed this opportunity with both hands and smashed a superb 84, helping India take a lead of 95 runs in the first innings.
“Bumrah set the tone in the first over, setting up Rory Burns the way he did, the bowling unit was good and I thought the batters came in with a lot of intent,” the wicket-keeper batsman from Tamil Nadu said.
After the first match ended in a draw, the action will be shifting to London as the second Test match between England and India is scheduled at the iconic Lord's from August 12.
