ENG v IND 2021: Gavaskar, Cook, Sehwag, Bhogle among the commentary panelists for Test series

India and England will play a five-match Test series which will start on August 4 at Trent Bridge.

Indian cricket team will play a Test series after March earlier this year. They had hosted England at home for a four-match series. Since then, India has played only one game in the longest format i.e. ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final.

Virat Kohli and co are going to face England in a five-match Test series, starting August 4 at Trent Bridge. The series is hyped for due to the clash of two high-quality Test sides.

Former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar, Virender Sehwag, ex-England captains Alastair Cook and Nasser Hussain are going to be the part of commentary panel for the series.

The English panel includes former cricketers like Gavaskar, Shaun Pollock, Sanjay Manjrekar, and Harsha Bhogle. Cook, Hussain, and Mike Atherton will be covering the match from the ground.

Ex-cricketers like Ashish Nehra, Virender Sehwag, Ajay Jadeja, Ajit Agarkar, Mohammad Kaif, and Vivek Razdan along with Arjun Pandit are in the panel for the Hindi studio show. 

Sony Pictures Sports Network (SPSN), has also announced its LIVE studio wraparound show Extraaa Innings. It will feature the likes of Gavaskar, Pollock, Cook among others to share insights about the match.

The Tamil commentary box will feature Laxman Sivaramakrishnan, WV Raman, Vidhyut Sivaramakrishnan, TR Arasu, and S Seshadri while the Telugu commentary will be presented by Venkatapathy Raju, Gnaneshwar Rao, C Venkatesh, Vijay Mahavadi, RJ Hemanthand Sandeep Kumar.

"With significant audiences expected to tune in, our LIVE studio show, Extraaa Innings, will provide real-time insights, and viewers across India can enjoy the series in four languages," he added.

The series will be aired Live on SONY SIX in English, SONY TEN 3 in Hindi, and the newly launched SONY TEN 4 channels in Tamil and Telugu from 2.30 pm IST. Viewers can also catch the live action on its on-demand OTT platform SonyLIV.
