The Indian team touring England for the upcoming five-match Test series which begins from August 4, has been hit with a lot of injury concerns as Shubman Gill, all-rounder Washington Sundar and pacer Avesh Khan have all been ruled out of the Test series.

While BCCI confirmed that Suryakumar Yadav and Prithvi Shaw will fly to the UK and join the Indian contingent as replacements, former Pakistan cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq talked about how India should not be worried about these injuries, thanks to their 'excellent bench strength.'

Team India are facing some injury issues in England. Sundar and Gill are unfit. Virat Kohli has a stiff back but he is trying his best to be fit for the first Test.

Ajinkya Rahane also has a hamstring issue. The good thing though is that India has excellent bench strength so they should not face that much difficulty even if some of their key players are injured, Inzamam said in his latest YouTube video.

The 51-year-old then pointed out how the subcontinental giants faced similar problems against Australia but the youngsters rose up to the occasion and won their second consecutive Test series against a full-strength Aussie side in Australia.

I don’t think Team India will be too worried over injuries. They faced a similar situation in Australia as well but they did not panic at all. The youngsters rose to the occasion and displayed great maturity as if they had been playing for many years,” the former cricketer said.

So, bench strength really matters a lot. They can pull you out of trouble and I give a lot of credit to Rahul Dravid for the same. In Sri Lanka as well, India won the ODIs and are 1-0 up in the T20Is as well,” he added.

As far as Team India is concerned, they will be playing the five-match Test series against England which is slated to begin at Trent Bridge (4 August) followed by Lord’s (12 August), Headingley (25 August), Kennington Oval (2 September) and Old Trafford (10 September).
