Avesh Khan was hit on his left hand while bowling for Select County XI against Indians.
The match which is being played in Chester-Le- Street ground in Durham, saw Avesh Khan turn out for the County Select XI, along with Washington Sundar, after they requested for players due to shortage, after a few of their players went on mandatory isolation for coming in contact with Covid-19 positive people.
Avesh Khan was hit on his left hand by a straight drive from Hanuma Vihari on the 5th ball of his 10th over in the innings. He immediately looked in pain and called for the Indian medical staff while Vihari checked on him.
The young Madhya Pradesh pacer then went off the field and later BCCI updated that he was sent for scans and would take no further part in the ongoing match between Indians and County Select XI.

Now a further update has been reported by PTI, which says that Avesh Khan has sustained a fracture to that left thumb and is all but ruled out of the upcoming England Test series.
A senior BCCI official informed that Khan, who was a stand-by player, could be out for a considerable period of time due to the injury and the Indian team management will have at least one net bowler short going into the Test series, starting August 4 at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
"Avesh is not likely to take any further part in the series, leave alone this game. It's a thumb fracture. He will not be bowling for at least a month and after that rehabilitation is likely to start. In another three days, the picture is supposed to get clearer," the BCCI source said.
The 24-year-old has 100 wickets from 26 first-class games and many believed that he could have made his Test debut at some point with five Test matches on the anvil.
