After the World Test Championship (WTC 2021) final against New Zealand in June, the Indian players were enjoying their 2-week long break with their families in different parts of the UK and were scheduled to assemble in Durham and go into the bio-bubble.

Earlier, BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla had also confirmed the development that one out of 23 players tested positive and has been kept in isolation.

Yes, one player has tested positive but he has been in isolation for the last eight days. He was not staying in any hotel with the team, so no other player has been affected. But I can't divulge the name of the player,BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla told PTI on Thursday.

As far as the Indian team is concerned, the upcoming Test series against England is slated to begin from 4 August and will go on till September 14 with five Test matches to be played at Trent Bridge, Lord’s, Headingley, Kennington Oval, and Old Trafford, possibly in front of a full capacity crowd.
