Shubman Gill is likely to miss out in the five-match Test series against England due to shin injury.
India opener Shubman Gill has sustained a shin injury which could rule him out of the entire five-Test series against England. Gill has been opening for India in Tests since the Australia tour and he was paired up with Rohit Sharma.
Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria believes Gill's loss is gain for Mayank Agarwal. He said Agarwal has a good chance to make full use of the opportunity in the absence of Gill.

"Five weeks to go before the start of the India vs England series and Shubman Gill is out. Mayank Agarwal has a good opportunity to capitalize. If he is given the opportunity ahead of Gill, it will be interesting to see how he responds," Kaneria said on his YouTube channel.
"There were some people who said he should have played ahead of Shubman Gill in the WTC final, but that did not happen. However, the chance is now for Agarwal. It will also be interesting to see whether KL Rahul is considered."
Agarwal last played a Test match for India on the Australia tour. He had played three matches on the tour but failed to get a single half-century. His scores were 17, 9, 0, 5, 38, and 9.
India have the option of KL Rahul and Agarwal for the opening spot with Gill expected to sit out for the whole series. "Let's see how quickly Gill recovers and makes a comeback. And as far as picking between Agarwal and Rahul is concerned, I have a feeling they will go with Mayank. Even in the middle order, Hanuma Vihari can prove to be a strong option. He has opened in the past as well so you never know," Kaneria said.
