ENG v IND 2021: Shubman Gill’s shin stress fracture could take two months to heal- Report
Originally, it was expected that the Indian team will play a couple of intra-squad matches amongst themselves in preparation for the Test series, but recently, BCCI had written to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) requesting a couple of practice games against county teams.
Initially, the ECB was not interested given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but it seems like the BCCI was able to persuade ECB enough as the England board has seemingly agreed to their request.
A top official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed to Cricbuzz, that the England Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has agreed to India's request for a couple of tour games ahead of the five-Test series. This follows phone calls directly from BCCI secretary Jay Shah to ECB chairman Ian Whatmore and CEO Tom Harrison.
