India women scored 247 runs after being asked to bat first by Pakistan women.
Pratika Rawal (31) and Smriti Mandhana (23) gave a good start to India, a and Harleen Deol (46) kept one end busy as wickets started to tumble at the other end. Jemimah Rodrigues (32), Deepti Sharma (25), and Richa Ghosh (35*) pushed India’s total to a competitive 247. For Pakistan, Diana Baig took 4/69.
Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur managed just 19 runs in 32 balls, coming out to bat at no.4. She hammered two fours and added 39 runs for the third wicket with Harleen Deol, who made 46 runs.
However, during her stay at the crease, Harmanpreet Kaur had an intense moment with Pakistani spinner Nashra Sandhu. The incident happened after Sandhu bowled the last ball of his 22nd over. Harmanpreet had 16 runs from 21 balls at the time.
Indian captain tried to push the ball down the ground, but Sandhu stopped the ball, and she then tried to intimidate Harman with a death gaze. However, the Indian captain did not react anyway to Sandhu and just returned her stare.
