India lost the CWC final to Australia by 6 wickets.
Australia were clinical in their execution of plans as India was restricted to 240 runs despite a flying start by Rohit Sharma (47) and fifties by Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. In the chase, though Australia lost their first three wickets for 47 runs in 7 overs, Travis Head didn’t panic.
Along with Marcus Labuschagne (58*), he shepherded the chase, scoring 137 runs and adding 192 runs for the fourth wicket. In the end, Australia won the final by 6 wickets and 7 overs to spare.
The Indian team players were seen with tears in their eyes as their perfect run in the tournament came to an end with a heartbreaking loss.
