India lost the World Cup 2023 final to Australia on Sunday.
After going undefeated throughout the competition until the final, Rohit Sharma's players were unable to pass the final test, and their ambition of capturing the trophy was dashed.
The Indian players were understandably dejected after losing the final. But, on the occasion, PM Narendra Modi paid them a visit in the dressing room and tried to motivate the players.
PM Modi was present at the venue to watch the two cricketing giants square off. He even handed over the World Cup trophy to Australia skipper Pat Cummins after the team's triumph.

Apart from Jadeja, India pacer Mohammad Shami also shared an image of Narendra Modi giving him a hug and a pat on the back. Shami ended the World Cup 2023 as the highest wicket-taker with 24 scalps and the best bowling figures as well of 7/57.
Shami posted: “Unfortunately yesterday was not our day. I would like to thank all Indians for supporting our team and me throughout the tournament. Thankful to PM @narendramodi for specially coming to the dressing room and raising our spirits. We will bounce back!”
