Team India managed to reach the final for the fourth time, after a gap of 12 years.
Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag doesn’t think the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Final will be a one-sided affair, as he predicted a tough contest between India and Australia in Ahmedabad.
The Australian team qualified for the ODI World Cup final for the record eighth time, while Team India managed to reach the final for just the fourth time and after a gap of 12 years.
However, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team is unbeaten and playing fearless cricket, plus they will also have the huge home crowd, so things won’t be easy for the Kangaroos to go after the hosts.
Well, ahead of the title clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, November 19, the 2011 World Cup winner, Virender Sehwag, claimed that Australia will be a little scared to face India in the final.

Sehwag was quoted as saying on Cricbuzz: “India will surely have an advantage. Australia will be a little scared to face India in the final. To win the World Cup, the only team they wouldn't have wanted to face in the final is India. Also, I don't think that the pitch will make a big difference. It will be a tough contest and won't be a one-sided affair.”
He added, “The likes of Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Steve Smith were part of the team that won the World Cup final in 2015. They will share their experience of playing in the final with the group. In such a big match, it is important to give it all. Australia is one team that knows how to do that. They don't give up very easily. To beat Australia, you need to play 100 overs of good cricket.”
