David Beckham is currently on a three-day visit to India.
Cricket fans should be ready for a star-studded affair at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, as England's football icon David Beckham is reportedly to be in attendance for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 semifinal clash between India and New Zealand on Wednesday (November 15) in Mumbai.
According to a report in News18 Cricketnext, David Beckham will join cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar at the Wankhede Stadium for the India v New Zealand semifinal match of the ongoing Cricket World Cup 2023 in Mumbai.
It is also being reported that both Beckham and Tendulkar may have the honor of walking out with the Cricket World Cup trophy ahead of the knockout encounter.
Beckham, the former England footballer and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, is currently on a three-day visit to India. He is likely to grace the VVIP enclosure alongside former cricketers, film personalities, and other sports stars during this highly anticipated match at Wankhede Stadium.
Notably, the collaboration between the International Cricket Council (ICC) and UNICEF is to empower women and girls and promote inclusion and gender equality through cricket.
Meanwhile, Team India enjoyed an undefeated streak in the ongoing World Cup 2023, securing victories in all nine league games on their way to the semifinals.
On the other hand, New Zealand's journey in the World Cup 2023 has seen its share of ups and downs. Despite having a strong start at CWC 2023 with four consecutive wins, the Black Caps suffered four successive defeats in the tournament.
However, they regained their momentum and secured a spot in the semifinals with a stunning win over Sri Lanka in their ninth match in the World Cup 2023.
