The skipper will also meet with England cricket director Rob Key ahead of the team’s last CWC 2023 against Pakistan on November 11 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
With a 160-run win over the Netherlands, England still has a chance to confirm their spot in the 2025 Champions Trophy, to be played in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Buttler hopes to continue as England captain on a tour of the West Indies next month.
Jos Buttler told reporters: “I'd like to. I know Rob Key arrives in India today. We can have some good conversations with him and the coach and make a plan for that tour.”
He said, “No, we haven't had any conversations like that. It's not Ben's style at all. He wants to put in performances like you saw here. Anytime you need someone to stand up when the team's under pressure, he's had a history of always doing that for whoever he's playing for. We're very lucky to have him in the team and I thought his innings today was exceptional.”
He signed off by opining on the Pakistan match, “It's a huge game for us, vital. We haven't performed the way we wanted to this whole trip, and we'd like to leave India putting in a proper performance.”
England has been already eliminated from the ODI World Cup 2023 semi-final race after a string of defeats in the event.
