Pakistan will play Bangladesh on October 31 in Kolkata.
Pakistan will face Bangladesh on October 31 and then New Zealand on November 4 in Bengaluru. Pakistan will return to Kolkata to face England on November 11.
The Pakistan cricket team will have to settle their taste buds with a strict diet chart and not biryani during their stay in the City of Joy for the ODI World Cup 2023. The contingent reached Kolkata on Saturday evening.
The players will have to ditch their beloved biryani and instead, have things like Mediterranean kebabs, eggs, and proteins at the team hotel. Kolkata is known for its famous Bengali cuisine but the team will have to stay away from all temptations.
"They are following a particular diet chart now. At breakfast, they have mostly eggs and proteins. Alongside that, Mediterranean kebabs and other such dishes are among items we're preparing for them,” Kolkata hotel chef was quoted by The Telegraph.
Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram slammed the Pakistan cricketers for their poor fitness and claimed that the players haven't undergone fitness tests in a couple of years and eat "8kg of kadhai & nihari" every day.
However the team management has put a stop to their unhealthy eating habits and laid out a strict diet plan for the players.
“With the team in such a situation, how can we have biryani? We'll see later in the tournament. The media also gave so much of hype to biryani," a member of the Pakistan contingent was quoted as saying by ABPLive.
Pakistan has only 2 wins from 6 games and needs to win the rest of their matches to have an outside chance of reaching the semi-finals.
