Wasim Akram was speaking on A Sports Pakistan TV show.
Afghanistan had shocked Pakistan by 8 wickets in Chennai, leaving the Men in Green team and its fans disappointed.
Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first. The Men in Green posted a total of 282 on the board, with Babar Azam top-scoring with a knock of 74, while Abdullah Shafique also scored a half-century. Shadab Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed with 40 runs each gave a strong finish to the Men in Green.
In reply, Afghanistan comfortably chased the target, with Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz putting up a 130-run opening partnership. Rehmat Shah and skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi ensured that the Afghans got home with ease. This was the first time Afghanistan beat Pakistan in an ODI.
While discussing the implications of this loss on Pakistan on ‘The Pavilion’ on A Sports, Wasim Akram was brutal in his criticism of the Babar Azam-led side. During this, Akram was sharing his opinion on why is he against doing a pre-match show live from the stadium due to hot and humid conditions.
While describing how he would look drenched in sweat under the scorching heat of the sun, Akram used the word ‘Ch***r’, which is a derogatory term used for a particular community.

The video of the incident has gone viral all over social media with Akram receiving flak for his choice of words from fans all over the globe. He received unanimous strong-worded messages on social media and was asked to apologize.
