Indian team is on a lengthy one-week break in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023. India defeated New Zealand in Dharamshala on October 23, Sunday and was granted a two-day break from cricket. And the contingent has used it in different ways.

Taking advantage of that rare leisure, chief coach Dravid led his team of support staff on the Triund trek in Dharamsala. The BCCI banned the players from going on this trek to keep them safe from injuries.

BCCI shared a small video of Dravid, batting coach Vikram Rathour, and others navigating through the climb up the mountain and then posing together for the camera sitting on a rock upon reaching the top.

"Superb view coming up to Triund. Just getting here, you are going up the mountain, climbing. It's a challenging trek, I must admit it. Once you come here, the views are breathtaking, and spectacular. It's incredible for the support staff to be able to come here. Just a great day out as well," said Dravid.

Dravid further said that it was risky to bring any of the players on a trek, considering there is a World Cup to be won, hopefully.

"Unfortunately, can't bring the boys up here, a bit too risky walking on those stones. "But hopefully, one day when they are not playing (any tournament), I would love for some of the boys to come here and experience this,” Dravid added.

Batting coach Rathour was also mesmerized by the views en route to the "little hard" trek and upon reaching Triund.

He said: "We are at Triund. Started from a place called Galu. It's beyond McLeod Ganj. When you are climbing up, the last half-an-hour trek is a little hard, but the moment it opens up, everything is worth it.”

Talking about preserving such naturally beautiful places, Dravid added: "There are so many places that are so rich in nature, diversity, places that we can explore, that are still so beautiful and untouched. I hope that we keep it that way and pass it on to the next generations for them to enjoy and come and have these walks. I would love my children to do this one day."

India has won all five of their matches thus far and is at the top of the points table. A couple of wins more in the remaining four matches will ensure them a place in the semi-finals. India will next play England in Lucknow on Sunday, October 29.
