The police have been vigilant in Bengaluru about avoiding any unwanted incident.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and chose to bowl first. Australia openers Mitchell Marsh (121) and David Warner (163) added 259 runs for the opening wicket. But Pakistan pulled it back a lot after dismissing these two batters as Australia finished with 367/9 in 50 overs.
For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi took five wickets.
Pakistan replied in kind as Imam Ul Haq (70) and Abdullah Shafique (64) added 134 runs for the opening wicket in 21.1 overs.
During the match, the policemen deployed at the M Chinnaswamy stadium premises adopted some strict controlling measures to keep fans in check to avoid disruptions. The police asked the fans not to wear black dress as a mark of protest, though they did not bar anyone from wearing clothes of that particular color while entering the stands.
However, the police asked the fans not to use placards with provocative slogans.
"We were instructed to check placards and banners of fans before they enter the stadium, so that there will not be any untoward incident," an official was quoted by PTI.
B Dayanand, the City Police Commissioner, has given special instructions to his officers in this regard, particularly because the city had seen a couple of protest marches in support of Palestine during the ongoing conflict with Israel.
Regarding the same, an incident was caught on camera in which a policeman and a Pakistani fan is arguing over the official telling the fan in the stands not to shout slogans that may go down well with the rest of the spectators.
It was claimed that the policeman tried to dissuade the fan from shouting "Pakistan Zindabad."
