Pakistan and Australia are clashing in the 18th match of the ICC World Cup 2023 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on October 20. Pakistan has won two of their three matches, while Australia has one win in three encounters.

However, both teams come into this match with different fortunes. Australia defeated Sri Lanka to register their first win in the tournament, while Pakistan was humiliated by India in a packed Ahmedabad ground by 7 wickets.

Babar Azam, Pakistan captain, won the toss and chose to bowl first on batting friendly Bengaluru pitch. Pakistan made one change with Shadab Khan, who has been terribly out of form, was left out and Usama Mir, a leg-spinner was given a chance.

Mitchell Marsh and David Warner opened for Australia and went after the Pakistani bowlers, who were coming off the drubbing they got from India and also after dealing with illness.

On the 3rd ball of the 5th over, Shaheen Afridi managed to get David Warner to play a false shot. Warner tried to pull a short ball from off-stump but only managed a top edge.

The ball ballooned towards Usama Mir stationed at mid-on. However, a jittery Usama completely managed to fumble an easy catch. His hands were near his body and the ball barely touched them, hit his chest, and fell to the ground.

Shaheen Afridi looked distraught at such a poor fielding effort, costing him a prized wicket.
