Bangladesh made 256/8 in 50 overs after winning the toss and choosing to bat first.
Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bat first. Najmul Hossain Shanto led the Bangladesh side in place of the injured Shakib Al Hasan.
Openers Tanzid Hasan (51) and Litton Das (66) added 93 runs for the first wicket to give their team a good start. But then Bangladesh lost a few wickets including both the openers and Najmul Shanto (8) and Mehidy Hasan (3). Mushfiqur Rahim made 38 but got out thanks to a brilliant catch by Jadeja at backward point.
But Nasum Ahmed (14) and Mahmudullah (46 with 3 fours and 3 sixes) powered Bangladesh to a final total of 256/8 in 50 overs. For India, Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets each.
One of Bumrah’s wickets was Mahmudullah who got out to a searing yorker in the last over. The veteran Bangladeshi batter was readying to launch the ball for a six, but Bumrah bowled the perfect yorker, with the ball hitting the base of the middle stump and sending Mahmudullah back.
