During India’s tour of England in 2021, pitch invader Daniel Jarvis had caught everyone’s attention with his mischievous actions. He had breached the security and entered the ground on multiple occasions.

Almost two years later, Jarvis aka Jarvo has once again become the talk of the town. On Sunday (October 8), Jarvo was apprehended by the security authorities at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai after he entered the ground wearing India’s jersey before the start of their World Cup match against Australia.

In the wake of his incident, the International Cricket Council (ICC) banned Jarvo from attending further matches in the showpiece event.

However, the question remains how did the serial pitch invader get access to the VIP area and breach multiple security layers to enter the ground.

“The individual concerned has been banned from attending any further games at the event and the matter is in the hands of the Indian authorities,” ICC spokesperson quoted as saying by PTI.

The incident must have left the ICC and BCCI embarrassed as Jarvo, donning the Indian jersey, attempted to move closer to star batter Virat Kohli, who wasn't one bit amused.

The turn of events took everyone by surprise but the Indian team's security officer did well to quickly grasp the man and escort him outside the venue.

After his notorious antics in 2021, Jarvo was banned from entering the grounds in England.

“The safety and security of everyone involved in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 is our priority. We will work with the venue to understand what happened and consider if any additional security measures are required to prevent it happening again,” ICC spokesperson's statement to PTI read.
