He may have called time on his international cricket career in 2020, but MS Dhoni’s popularity hasn’t gone down one bit.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest cricketers produced by India, Dhoni continues to appear on billboards and on television endorsing different brands.

Ahead of the 2023 ODI World Cup, Dhoni’s new advertisement has gone viral on social media, in which he can be seen sharing an important message for fans and the well-wishers of the Indian cricket team.

In the advertisement, Dhoni is part of a news panel discussion, where he was asked about India’s World Cup chances.

In reply, the 2011 World Cup-winning captain said in the ad video, "Listen to me, carefully. Let's not discuss India's chances in the World Cup. You know what happens when you create so much hype about something?"

When asked about last year's T20 World Cup campaign in Australia and how India reached the semi-finals, Dhoni added: "This time, let's not take any chances. We won't say anything."

"Even if we win the first match, don't say anything. Even if we beat them (Pakistan), don't say anything. Even if we reach the final, don't say anything. Till we get what everyone wants, don't say anything."

Here’s the video:

India will begin their World Cup campaign against five-time champions Australia in Chennai on October 8.
