The much-anticipated ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 is all set to kick-off on October 5 in India. Defending champions England will face New Zealand in the tournament opener at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

On the eve of the match, England skipper Jos Buttler addressed the press conference, where he was taken aback by a question from a journalist.

The reporter asked Buttler if the absence of James Anderson and Stuart Broad, who recently retired from the game, will affect England’s pace bowling in the tournament.

The England captain was left shocked by the query given that Anderson and Broad aren’t in England’s white-ball scheme of things for the last eight years.

Buttler did his best control his laughter and replied, "Yeah, well, I think Jimmy is still available for selection. He's not played since 2015 and I don't think Stuart has either, even though he's now retired."

Here’s the video:

Earlier in the day, India skipper Rohit Sharma was left annoyed by a question during the ICC's 'Captain's Day' event in Ahmedabad.

The journalist asked Rohit about the supposed controversial decision to crown England as champions despite a tie in the 2019 World Cup final at Lord's.

In reply, Rohit said: "Woh Mera Kaam Nahin Hai sir. Woh Ghoshit Karna Hamaara Kaam nahin hai." (It is not my job to decide that, sir. It is not my job to announce that)”
