There is a lot of anticipation around the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, slated to get underway on October 5 in Ahmedabad with the New Zealand versus England clash.

With less than a week remaining for the quadrennial event, cricket experts have started picking their finalists.

Pakistan pace legend Waqar Younis has also joined the bandwagon, naming defending champions England and hosts India as the likely World Cup finalists.

Waqar shared his opinion in a video posted by Star Sports on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

Besides Waqar, cricket legends like Jacques Kallis, Dale Steyn, Muttiah Muralitharan, Chris Gayle, Shane Watson, Aaron Finch, Faf du Plessis among others predicted their finalists as well and nearly all of them took India’s name.

Here’s the video:

The World Cup 2023 final is scheduled to be played on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

India will begin their campaign against five-time champions Australia in Chennai on October 8.
