There is a lot of buzz around the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, slated to be held in India from October 5 to November 19.

Ahead of the showpiece tournament, South African legend Dale Steyn has named India’s Mohammed Siraj in his list of five fast bowlers to watch out for.

Siraj has impressed one and all with his exploits in the 50-over format this year. The right-arm quick has played 14 ODIs in 2023 so far, claiming 30 wickets at a remarkable average of 14.70 and an economy rate of 4.91.

Siraj also played an instrumental role in India’s Asia Cup 2023 triumph earlier this month. He finished the continental tournament with 10 wickets at an average of 12.2, including a six-wicket haul (6/21) in the final against Sri Lanka.

As a result, Mohammed Siraj achieved the numero uno position in the ICC Men’s ODI Rankings for bowlers.

Speaking to ICC, Steyn picked Siraj in his list of pacers to watch out for, saying that the latter would be a key player for India in the quadrennial event.

"So my five fast bowlers to watch out in this tournament are Mohammad Siraj from India. Swings the ball up front, knocks over big batters. Key player for India," said Steyn.
