Pakistan cricket team landed in India on Wednesday (27th September) to play in the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. The squad led by Babar Azam arrived in Hyderabad via Dubai to a warm reception from the Indian fans who were waiting to catch a glimpse of the players both inside and outside the airport.

The team was expectedly accompanied by tight security but the players seemed to be in good spirits as they soaked in the welcome, and waved to the people who were there to see them, before boarding their bus to the hotel, where they were also welcomed by the staff.

Pakistan Cricket Board shared the clip on X (formerly Twitter).

Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, took to their social media platforms to appreciate the warm welcome with most of the squad including captain Babar Azam on their first visit to India.

Shaheen posted a Instagram story, as he wrote, “Hyderabad, India. Great welcome thus far”.

Rizwan also hailed the welcome and looked forward to the next one and half months in India. He wrote on X, Amazing reception from the people here. Everything was super smooth. Looking forward to the next 1.5 months”.

All-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed, shared a short video clip of himself after arrival in India on X, in which he made 'thumbs up' and 'victory' signs towards the cameraperson.
