Bangladesh on Tuesday (September 26) unveiled their 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, slated to be held in India from October 5 to November 19.

Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will continue to lead the side in the quadrennial event while Litton Das will perform the role of a vice-captain.

Veteran Tamim Iqbal, who shocked the cricketing by reversing his retirement decision in July, wasn't included in the World Cup squad.

While the southpaw didn’t feature in the Asia Cup 2023 due to a back injury, he regained fitness and took part in the recently held ODI series against New Zealand at home. Therefore, his absence from the Word Cup squad raised a lot of eyebrows.

Ebadot Hossain wasn’t considered for selection as the right-arm pacer failed to recover from a knee injury he sustained during the ODI series against Afghanistan in July.

Despite Tamim’s absence, Bangladesh’s batting line-up features experienced campaigners like Mushfiqur Rahim, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Litton Das and Shakib.

Bangladesh’s spin department looks quite strong with the presence of Shakib, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Nasum Ahmed and Mahedi Hasan.

Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman will lead the pace attack, also featuring Shoriful Islam, Hasan Mahmud and Tanzim Hasan.
