Laura Wolvaardt was named the captain of the ICC Team of the Tournament.
The ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 came to a stunning end as India lifted their first-ever trophy, becoming World Champions by defeating South Africa in an exciting final that was played in Navi Mumbai on November 2.
On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, ICC unveiled the Women’s World Cup 2025 team of the tournament, and three Indian players were included in the chosen playing XI.
The two top-scorers of the tournament, Smriti Mandhana (434 runs) and Laura Wolvaardt (571 runs), were chosen to open the innings, with South Africa also being named the captain. India’s Jemimah Rodrigues was chosen for the no.3 spot, having scored 292 runs in the tournament, including a sublime ton in the semi-final.
Marizanne Kapp (208 runs, 12 wickets), Ash Gardner (328 runs, 7 wickets), and Deepti Sharma (215 runs, 22 wickets) were named as part of the middle order. Deepti was also named the Player of the Tournament for her all-round performance.
Annabel Sutherland (117 runs, 17 wickets), Nadine de Klerk (208 runs, 9 wickets) were included, with Sidra Nawaz (62 runs) chosen as the wicketkeeper.
Alana King (13 wickets) and Sophie Ecclestone (16 wickets) rounded off the ICC Team of the Tournament, while England captain Nat Scriver-Brunt (262 runs, 9 wickets) was named the 12th player.
