मुकाबले के तीसरे दिन पैट कमिंस की गेंद पर आउट होने से पहले कोहली ने मैच में 123 रनो की पारी खेली थे| हालाँकि इसके बाद कोहली को कैच आउट करार दिए जाने को लेकर काफी विवाद खड़े किये जा रहे हैं|
भारत और ऑस्ट्रेलिया के बीच पर्थ में खेले जा रहे मैच में कोहली ने अपने टेस्ट करियर का 25वां शतक जड़ते हुए 257 गेंदों में 13 चौके और एक छक्के की मदद से 123 रनो की पारी खेली| इस मुकाबले में कोहली का कैच पीटर हैंड्सकॉम्ब ने पकड़ा था, जिसे लेकर काफी चर्चा की जा रही हैं|
रिप्ले में देखने पर ऐसा लग रहा था कि गेंद जमीन को छू रही है| कोहली ने कमिंस की गेंद पर एक लूज ड्राइव खेला, जिसके बाद गेंद दूसरी स्लिप में खड़े हैंड्सकॉम्ब के हाथो में चली गई|
जिसके बाद फील्ड अंपायर ने कोहली को आउट करार दिया और इसके बाद कोहली ने भी हार नहीं मानी और डीआरएस लेने का फैसला किया, जिसके बाद ये मामला थर्ड अंपायर के पास भी पहुंचा| कैच का रिप्ले देखने के बाद ऐसा लग रहा था कि गेंद हैंड्सकॉम्ब के हाथ में जाने से पहले जमीन पर टपक्का खाई हो|
कोहली को आउट दिए जाने के बाद सोशल मीडिया पर काफी बातें की जा रही है| लेकिन ट्विटर, जो भारतीय कप्तान की इस शानदार पारी की प्रशंसा करने में व्यस्त थे, अचानक से इस विवादास्पद बर्खास्तगी पर जुझारू से हो गए हैं|

The bottom line is that technology in such matters is inconclusive and will always be inconclusive because we are seeing a 3 dimensional event in 2 dimensions. And so the verdict tend to go with the on-field umpire.
