Rasikh Salam, Vicky Ostwal, Kartik Tyagi added to Indian squad as net bowlers for Japan T20I and Asian Games 2026- Report

India and Japan will play a one-off T20I game on September 22 before the Asian Games 2026.

Indian squad for their Japan tour for a one-off T20I and the Asian Games 2026 got some more members, as three bowlers in Baroda’s Jammu and Kashmir pacer Rasikh Salam, Maharashtra’s Vicky Ostwal, and Uttar Pradesh’s Kartik Tyagi have been added as net bowlers.

Before the one-off T20I match on September 22, the Indian squad will practice at Sano International Stadium on September 21. The team will then spend a few more days in Sano before heading to Nagoya for the Asian Games, where their opening game is set for September 28.

During the stay in Sano, the three additional members will be needed for the practice sessions. And hence Rashik (26), Ostwal (24) and Tyagi (25) have been attached as net bowlers to the Shreyas Iyer-led side. They are believed to have left New Delhi for Tokyo on Saturday (September 19) night.

The main squad has only 14 members, with Nitish Kumar Reddy, who was part of the contingent, withdrawn and added to the India ODI squad for the home series against the West Indies.

Meanwhile, the Indian team has been asked to report on September 23 for the three ODIs against the West Indies. On that day, the 15-man team led by Shubman Gill must gather in Trivandrum. The first ODI will be on September 27.

Before the five-match T20I series, which begins in Lucknow on October 6, there are two further ODIs scheduled for September 30 in Guwahati and October 3 in New Chandigarh.
